NCETA in the Spotlight
Over the past few months, the NCETA team have been actively sharing research at key events across Australia. Highlights include a booth, posters and presentations at APSAD2025 and the National Men’s Health Gathering and SA Population Health Conference.
19 November - Our PhD student Stefano Zaccagnini showcased his first year of research into risky drinking among mid-aged men at the Recognising PhD and Industry Partnerships delivered by Flinders University at the city campus.
9 – 12 November - The majority of the NCETA team had a great time in Sydney for APSAD2025, Australia’s premier conference on alcohol, drugs, and dependence. We hosted a booth and shared our latest research through engaging presentations, posters and resources, connecting with colleagues and stakeholders from across the sector.
24 October – Dr Kirrilly Thompson, Christina Norris and students Yusra Tawfic and Okemena Onotume presented at the PHAA SA Population Health Conference in Hindmarsh, covering topics from addiction medicine workforce, parental supply prevention and adolescent drinking trends.
21 – 24 October - Stefano Zaccagnini shared progress towards his PhD co-funded by Alcohol and Drug Foundation on risky drinking in midlife men at the National Men’s Health Gathering in Brisbane.
24 September - Christina Norris and Victoria Kostadinov presented at the AIMS (Alcohol Industry Monitoring System) Symposium in Canberra. Christina’s presentation focused on the imagery of alcohol products and Victoria’s focused on consumer perceptions of nutrition-related claims.
