The 2026 ISSDP conference is benefiting from significant contributions from national AOD research centres.

The 2026 International Society for the Study of Drug Policy conference is benefiting from significant contributions from all of Australia’s national AOD research centres, with NDRI hosting the event and researchers from all centres contributing to oral, workshop and poster presentations.

In addition to hosting the conference for the first time in Perth, NDRI researchers are also delivering several oral presentations, on such topics as drug checking and lived experience, and pre- and in-program workshops focusing on naloxone, nitrous oxide, OAT, drugs and violence for women, and justice health.

Other program highlights demonstrating national centre collaboration include:

  • NDARC, NCCRED and NDRI researchers collaborating to deliver a workshop on drug early warning systems in Australia and internationally
  • A topical presentation from NDRI’s Nic Taylor and NDARC’s Michala Kowalski on illicit alcohol
  • Several oral and poster presentations outlining work by NCYSUR and NCETA researchers on vaping, medicinal cannabis, and alcohol labelling.
