NCETA’s 2026 Symposium was a great success, with the team sharing the latest research in alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes and other drugs

NCETA’s 2026 Symposium held on Thursday 21 May 2026 at Flinders City Campus in Adelaide was a great success with strong attendance of over 130 people in-person and online.

The Symposium presented the latest research across alcohol and other drugs (AOD), tobacco and e-cigarettes, workforce development and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). Sessions covered prevention and early intervention, alcohol policy and patterns of use, and the health and social needs of people who use drugs, along with emerging evidence on smoking cessation and vaping.

The event highlighted the breadth of work across the sector and provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to connect and share knowledge.

Participant feedback showed strong appreciation for the diversity of topics, the high quality of presentations, and opportunities to share knowledge and network.

NCETA thanks all presenters and attendees for their contribution to a highly engaging event.
