NCETA has been making headlines with a series of recent media releases that highlight their research into alcohol use, prevention strategies, and youth health.
In December 2025, NCETA released “Sip smart this festive season”, providing evidence-based guidance on safer alcohol consumption during the holiday period. The research offered practical tips for enjoying festive celebrations responsibly, aiming to reduce alcohol-related harm over the busy season. Read more
Following this, in January 2026, the team explored the dynamics of workplace culture in “Work hard, play hard”. This release examined how alcohol use can be influenced by social and professional environments, highlighting strategies for promoting healthier choices among employees. Read more
Most recently, in February 2026, NCETA’s research attracted attention with “Zero-alcohol ads hook teens”, which revealed the unintended effects of zero-alcohol beverage marketing on teenagers. The study found that advertising these products may actually increase young people’s interest in full-strength alcohol, raising important questions about how these products are promoted. Read more
