New project exploring Australian adults’ perspectives on using and regulating zero-alcohol drinks.

To maximise the public health benefits, and minimise harms, of zero-alcohol drinks, policymakers need to understand whether and how adults are using these drinks to reduce harmful alcohol consumption. Policymakers also need to understand how this use may vary under different regulatory settings currently being considered by policy makers, such as changes to the availability, price, or promotion of these drinks. Through focus groups with Australian adults, this project will provide qualitative insights into how adults use and think about regulating zero-alcohol drinks, to better understand the harm reduction potential of zero-alcohol drinks and underpin future work to design and evaluate policy responses.
