International Research Conference on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), Seattle
Professor Jacqueline Bowden delivered a co-plenary presentation at the 9th International Research Conference on FASD in Seattle in March 2025, sharing insights and evaluation findings from Australia’s national public health campaign, Every Moment Matters. Her presentation was delivered alongside esteemed colleagues Professor Elizabeth Elliott, Sophie Harrington and Dr Robyn Williams.
Preventive Health Conference 2025, Canberra
At the Preventive Health Conference in Canberra in April 2025, Dr Md Abdul Ahad and Dr Ashlea Bartram presented important research on zero-alcohol drinks and adolescents. You can read the recently published article here.
NDARC Webinar Series
Dr Ashlea Bartram was part of NDARC’s webinar on 1st May discussing Alcohol advertising in disguise – how exposure to zero-alcohol products and promotions drives adolescents’ perceptions of alcohol. You can view the webinar here.
NCETA Symposium, Bedford Park

Field Officers Conference, Adelaide
Dr Kirrilly Thompson gave an invited presentation at the 2025 Apprentice Employment Network SA (AEN SA) Field Officers Conference in Adelaide on 20 May 2025. Her presentation provided field officers and managers with insight into patterns of ATOD use across different industries, how to identify and support workers who may be impacted, and the importance of addressing the stigma that prevents help seeking.
Annual Symposium of the Kettil Bruun Society (KBS) for Social and Epidemiology Research on Alcohol, Glasgow
Professor Jacqueline Bowden presented on ‘Australians’ awareness and understanding of nutrition claims on alcohol label’ during the 50th annual KBS Symposium in Glasgow in June 2025. Stay tuned for a publication to come.
