Feedback invited to update FundAssist Toolkit

March 2024

NCETA are revising their FundAssist toolkit which was developed to help non-government alcohol and other drug organisations prepare, plan, and write successful funding applications by helping them:

  • Identify and respond to community needs
  • Define their organisational strategy
  • Understand the funder's assessment criteria
  • Build a fund writing team
  • Develop and implement a long-term funding strategy and identify potential funding sources
  • Develop budgets
  • Develop proposals which address an identified need, are evidence-based, and meet the funder's requirements
  • Write clear, accurate, persuasive funding applications
  • Submit compliant applications
  • Create and maintain a core body of relevant organisational documents
  • Create strong and review unsuccessful applications.

FundAssist contains information, tips, activities and links to further information for novice and experienced grant writers. The first edition (2014) was commissioned by the Network of Alcohol and Other Drug Agencies (NADA) on behalf of the AOD peak bodies. It was authored by Ann Roche, Tanis Steenson, Allan Trifonoff and Jane Fisher with guidance from an Expert Advisory Group with representatives from 11 organisations.
