The Science of Drugs with Richard Roxburgh

Several NDARC researchers contributed their expertise and insights to the four-part documentary series, The Science of Drugs with Richard Roxburgh, which screened recently ABC TV. 

Filming for the series took place in May 2021, and extensive interviews were conducted with Professor Michael Farrell, Associate Professor Julia Lappin, Professor Shane Darke, Associate Professor Amy Peacock, Dr Natasa Gisev and Associate Professor Rebecca McKetin. 

The first episode of the series Legal and Lethal explores alcohol and cigarettes, the second episode Medicinal Mindbenders takes a deep dive into cannabis, psychedelics, and MDMA, the third episode The Stimulants looks at caffeine, cocaine and ice, and the final episode New Epidemics addresses the growing global challenges of opioids and sugar. 

All four episodes are now available on  ABCiview.
