NCETA launched the Cannabis section of the National Alcohol and Drug Knowledgebase (NADK) on Monday 27 July 2015.
Using information provided by Australia’s best datasets, the Cannabis section of the NADK provides answers to 88 frequently asked questions (FAQs) about cannabis use. The section makes it easy for parents, teachers, young people, older people, politicians, and service providers to understand the prevalence and frequency of cannabis use in the community. It clarifies what Australians think about cannabis use, offences, and crimes; and, debunks some anecdotal reports surrounding the physical and mental health consequences of using cannabis.
For example, the Cannabis section of the NADK tells you:
- how many people disapprove of cannabis use
- how many people think cannabis use and possession should be criminalised
- which age group is most likely to smoke cannabis
- how likely you are to crash your car when driving under the influence of cannabis.

The methamphetamine section of the NADK is nearing completion and is scheduled to be launched later in the year.
