The challenges of research into preventing and responding to blood borne viruses

Dr Susan Carruthers recently retired from NDRI after a 30-year contribution to the alcohol and other drugs field. In this article she looks back on the challenges of research into preventing and responding to blood borne viruses among injecting drug users.

Do workplace alcohol and drug policies improve employee health and wellbeing and reduce harm?

There is substantial evidence that the workplace is an appropriate and effective prevention and intervention setting for targeting alcohol and other drug-related harm.

What is the economic impact of methamphetamine use on Australia?

This project aims to provide an assessment of the societal costs of methamphetamine use and in the process develop a methodology that can be applied to other drugs.
