Opportunity at NDRI for Indigenous Australian researcher

October 2018

Following the recent retirement of Professor Dennis Gray and Associate Professor Ted Wilkes, the National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) is seeking an Indigenous Australian researcher to lead the Needs of Aboriginal Australians research program.

Based at NDRI in Perth, this program contributes to prevention and reduction of the burden of harm caused by alcohol and other drugs (AOD) amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. The Research:

  • Focuses on the inter-related topics of changing patterns of AOD use, factors related to harmful use, more efficient and effective provision of services, and improved policy responses.
  • Is based on well-established partnerships with Aboriginal community controlled health organisations, with Aboriginal community stakeholders and organisations actively involved in all aspects of research from planning through to translation into policy and strategies.
