Drug Policy Modelling Program relocating to Social Policy Research Centre at UNSW, Sydney

June 2018

A new collaboration between the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC), the Social Policy Research Centre (SPRC) and the Drug Policy Modelling Program (DPMP) will create exciting opportunities for inter-faculty partnerships between the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at UNSW Sydney.

Professor Alison Ritter and some members of the DPMP team will be relocating to SPRC to integrate UNSW research in drug policy with social welfare policy. Dr Katinka Van de Ven, Dr Claire Wilkinson, Dr Thu Vuong, Kim Beadman and Michala Kowalski will join Alison at SPRC. Dr Marian Shanahan, Dr Caitlin Hughes and Dr Monica Barratt will remain at NDARC to continue leading collaborations from the Faculty of Medicine.

Professor Ritter will remain closely aligned with NDARC through a range of existing projects and lead the development of new collaborations between the Centre and SPRC.

The transition will happen through May/June with most arrangements expected to be in place by the end of June 2018.
